You will be responsible for management of assets and leases associated with our restaurants and properties in South Africa.

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF YOU?

  • Asset Strategy: Develop, execute, and maintain a consolidated Asset Strategy for our restaurants, involving cross-functional collaboration with Market Planning, Finance, and Operations teams. Understanding trade zones and relocate opportunities.
  • Head Lease Renewals: Align Asset Strategy for all Head Lease expirations 18 months prior to expiration. Coordinate and negotiate head lease renewals for all restaurants and supporting facilities, adhering to financial guidelines and company strategy. Seamless work with Legal team to ensure all lease agreements/amended are fully negotiated and comments clarified before engaging with landlord for final review/approval.
  • Property Compliance: Manage property-related tasks, including securing permits and certificates, obtaining landlord approvals for remodel programs, and handling property management issues.
  • Administration: Handle all general property management issues e.g. municipal services, billing, landlord / leasing agent engagement.
  • Budgeting and Forecast: Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts in line with company objectives, overseeing financial aspects of asset and lease management.
  • Special Projects: Oversee special projects as assigned by the Development Team, ensuring timely and effective execution.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM YOU

  • Required: Undergraduate degree preferred (property/ commercial / legal).
  • Preferred: Minimum 10 years’ experience in retail leasing environment.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Strong commercial acumen & negotiation skills – essential
  • Strong interpersonal & Communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Good understanding property contractual law – essential
  • Knowledge of zoning laws, building codes, and permitting process – essential
  • Understanding and knowledge of implementing and managing property management systems
